What’s On in Woolacombe

Your WOW guide

The cream always goes on first…

We may be biased but our breathtaking North Devon coastline is nothing but spectacular, and here in Woolacombe the golden beaches are at their very best. Rolling surf, magnificent cliffs and proud headlands all alongside the softest sand and the scent of salty sea spray.

If we manage to drag you away, you’ll soon realise that we have so much more going on in, and around, our beautiful seaside village.

The Seaside

Seaside holidays are all about splashing in the waves, bucket and spade in hand, climbing dunes and running along miles of glorious sand. Do you build a sandcastle? Hunt for sea-life and shells while rock-pooling? Or sit and watch the world go by while sizzling in the sun?

The sunshine is above average here too, so don’t forget the suntan lotion while enjoying our glorious beaches. Check out our local Beach Guide as there are so many to explore.

Ride the Woolacombe Wave

On our Golden Coast Holiday Park, we have our amazing surfing simulator. The Wavesurfer creates an artificial wave that anyone can body board on, whether you’re a total beginner or experienced surfer. Check out the Woolacombe Wave page for more information.

If you’re interested in Watersports, then we have a range of exciting activities available through Woolacombe Surf CentreSurf Tuition and coastal activity specialists. Offering Surf lessons, Coasteering and Kayaking as well as a full range of equipment hire. All at very reasonable prices with the highest qualified instructors.

EX34 Activities

Yes, it’s our postcode, but it’s also our fantastic sports complex at Golden Coast. We have everything from Climbing Walls to Adventure Golf, WaterWalkerz to Bungee Trampolines, High Ropes Course to our Wavesurfer. All available to guests and locals at a minimal fee.

Just up the road at Woolacombe Bay we have our high-speed Segways and Zorbing activities, a must for any thrill-seeking family. There’s a fully equipped gym, sauna and spa for afterwards too. Don’t forget about the 9 swimming pools we have across our Parks, heated indoors and out.

North Devon

There is so much to do on our Devon Holiday Parks, perhaps so much that you never need leave us, but if you fancy trying out some of our local attractions then we’re here to help. We may even have a discount or two for our guests (just ask at reception!).

We’re not one of these lock-the-gates-behind-you Holiday Parks.

We love North Devon. We’re from here and we really want you to get out and about and see what the area’s got to offer. It’s a stunning place and we want to share it.

The local area

Quaint fishing harbours, picture postcard villages, acres of woodlands and the unbeatable rugged beauty of Exmoor. We’re in a unique position here in North Devon, sandwiched between spectacular moorland and the powerful Atlantic Ocean, it’s no wonder we love it.

You may have heard a whisper of a local ice cream legend. Ask a local what their favourite ice cream is… Hocking’s. Make sure you find one of their elusive vans.

Cream on first

We must insist that you indulge in a proper Devon cream tea before you leave us. The clotted cream must always go on first, it’s the only way to enjoy this indulgent treat – the Queen agrees!

So, what else is on?

You’ll discover some of the longest waterslides in Devon at Twitchen House Holiday Park.

Air Extreme is an amazing Trampoline Park in Barnstaple. Wall to wall interconnected trampolines and adrenaline filled jump activities. Jump, flip and tumble before heading to the Hangout Cafe.

Golden bowls, 8 lane ten pin bowling alley, with an all-American 1950’s Retro Diner at Golden Coast Holiday Park.

There are loads of other local attractions, including Exmoor Zoo, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Quince Honey Farm, Wildlife & Dinosaur Park and Watermouth Castle to name but a few.

Don’t forget our cinemas at Twitchen House and Woolacombe Bay, showing all of the latest blockbusters.
