Mother’s Day or Mothering Sunday is a day for families, where we show all the special women in our lives just how much they mean to us – mums, grandmothers, nannies, guardians, stepmothers and, of course, mothers-in-law. The fourth Sunday of Lent is Mother’s Day, March 29th in 2020, always three weeks before Easter Sunday.
Let mum stay in bed a little longer this year and prepare something special, just for her.
Mother’s Day Flowers
Daffodils are a Spring favourite and easy to find at your local supermarket when funds are limited. Bouquets of Spring flowers, including heavenly roses, beautiful tulips, Lily of the Valley and the sought-after peony will be greeted with the biggest of smiles. Whether your budget is large or small, flowers will always be well appreciated.
A Box of Chocolates
Easter will soon be upon us and the shelves are already filled with eggs, however a selection box especially chosen for Mother’s Day will give her that chocolate fix a few weeks early. The big brands and supermarkets are pushing an offer or two and the boutiques always have something very special – luxurious chocolates, delicious treats and other tasty gifts.
Breakfast or Brunch in Bed
Egg and soldiers, a classic bacon sandwich or maybe some blueberry pancakes? Push the boat out and get cooking, whip up her favourite breakfast treat while letting mum catch up with that lost hour of sleep. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or Eggs Benedict for the adventurous? Try something with avocado, it’s delicious and she will love it!
Take a Weekend Break
We may be biased but North Devon is a glorious destination. Spend the weekend at one of our Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks for Mother’s Day and bring the whole family. Woolacombe has been voted Best Beach in England in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2020, enjoy the miles of sand and glorious spray. Great food & drink and activities for every member of the family. WaveSurfer, waterslides, zorbing, pools and much more for the adventurous as well as fantastic entertainment.
Enjoy an Amazing Meal Together
We all love the Sunday roast but let someone else do it today. Choose a local pub carvery or a nearby restaurant so that mum doesn’t need to cook. Don’t forget to book in advance though as you don’t want to miss out on this busy day. Some chains are offering Mother’s go free options, many are giving away extra gifts, all sure to make her day special.
Don’t Forget the Card
That hand-written note in a simple card will be treasured more than anything else. Search for personalised prints online or Mother’s Day cards from your local high street shop, supermarket and Post Office. You could even get crafty and make one yourself.
Spoil Her with Jewellery
Gold or silver, sparkling gems, rings, bangles and bracelets. What would make her feel as special as can be? You can’t go wrong with something sparkly, wrapped up with a bow. Give her something she’ll treasure forever and wear on special occasions.
Relax with a Spa Treatment
Join us for a March break at Woolacombe Bay and let her enjoy a range of spa treatments for Mother’s Day. From massages to facials, saunas and steam rooms to a range of body, beauty, nail and eye treatments. You’ll find health suites with saunas and steam rooms on most of our other Devon Holiday Parks too. Treat your loved one to a weekend of pampering.
