A Guide to staying with a dog in a Holiday Park

We know that your pooch is as part of the family as the kids and we also know you wouldn’t go on holiday without them! Here at Woolacombe Bay, we welcome dogs with our dog friendly holiday accommodation and stunning location with miles and miles of coastline ready for dogs to be walked on!

Getting ready for your dog friendly holiday

You’ll want your furry friend to have as good a time on holiday as you do, so you’ll need to prepare a little to make sure they are well cared for. Remember to keep them cool, our Devon summers can be pretty hot, with lots of water and plenty of dips in the sea and shade when sitting on the beach (you can see which beaches are dog-friendly in Woolacombe and the surrounding area by using our Woof Guide). It’s also a good idea to take some dog food with you, even though there are shops nearby, you don’t want to but caught short and end up stressed on your holidays!

If you do bring your dog on holiday, make sure you are aware of any vets in the area – there are two near us, Argyll (01271 867711) and Mullacott (01271 866770) who will be able to see you in an emergency if needed. Of course, bringing any meds your dog may need will be in your packing list, but just in case!

Where to stay with your dog

We like to make life easy for you, and our dog friendly Holiday Homes are all situated close to footpaths and exercise areas, meaning going for your morning stroll will be easy! If you’re after a longer walk, you won’t be short on places to walk here, as there are countless cliff-tops and paths to wander, on and off our sites.

We also kit our homes out with comfy dog beds with covers that are changed on every arrival, some healthy dog treats, dog toys, food and water bowls and the all-important pooper scooper with unlimited refills.

Out and about with your dog

The are is full of dog-friendly pubs and eateries, so you’ll never need to leave your buddy at home – highly recommended are The Red Barn and Captain Jacks in Woolacombe, but there are plenty of places in Mortehoe, Exmoor and Croyde that welcome dogs too! If you’re heading further a field, remember to make life a little bit easier by doing some research before you head off.
